About us

The Meander is a public Dalton primary school and is open to all pupils. The school is located at two locations in the spacious district de Landerijen in Lelystad, namely at Pauwenburg 4 (location West) and Bingerden 41 (location East). The locations have a spacious playground.

The school has about 380 pupils who are divided into sixteen groups. Each location consists of eight groups 1 - 8.

Our school in highlights

We would like to mention a number of highlights of De Meander here: 

- Dalton education: From the dalton idea we see on the Meander the teacher as coach and the student as owner of the learning process. See here for more information about our Dalton education.
- Two locations: We have two school buildings and at each location a group 1 to group 8. As a result, despite the total number of pupils, the school still feels calm and clear.
- Extra offer for the young child: At Meander West we give extra guidance on the Dutch language and vocabulary for children who speak an adnere language at home. Children who can handle more are offered at a higher level.
- Physical education: twice a week all pupils receive physical education from a professional subject teacher. We also organize extra sports and play activities after school.
